Later that year, Ultima Forums was slowly growing into a free phpBB host. It never took off and retained just a small group of users. The domain name was confusing and, quite frankly, only appealed to those in the UK – who else would want a co.uk domain name?

Now, enter the spring of 2007. A total overhaul was completed and we reworked everything from the ground up. New management, new everything. About the same time, I had started hosting my personal blog at ASmallOrange and noticed one of their biggest drawing features was the “knock-your-socks-off-awesome” support they had. And so, again, defying other hosts, I did away with a user support forum and launched a 1-on-1 helpdesk system. 2007 passed by with rapid growth and a growing user base – and they were all still mostly in the UK. Think collin, think!

Bingo! Enter new years, 2008. More domain names! We now have 5 domain names you can choose from, and that number is growing stronger every day! Along with that, the site underwent a total makeover again and had tons of new features, including a custom statistics program, built in chatroom, and lots of other great forums.

Wow, the helpdesk was a great idea. People are loving getting personal help for all their issues and questions about running their own forum. An average of 16 posts per minute are going in and out of forums hosted with us. What else do people want? Think, collin! We need another great idea!

Ah ha! Thats it! Why not allow the users to earn MONEY off their forum? Now, although our “no forced ads” concept was great, I noticed lots of users putting their own ads on the forum instead. Collin, get with the program! So now, we have built in revenue sharing! There is virtually no end to how much money you can make off your forum!
